TAMPA, FL – During Thursday’s NFL press conference for the 2021 Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, The Weeknd shares some hints about this year’s halftime show on Sunday February 7, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL.

The “Save Your Tears” singer took questions and revealed, many of which were virtual, and told details, but held off on giving too much information on the show.

“Well, due to COVID-19 and for the safety of the players and the workers, we kind of built this stage within the stadium,” The Weeknd explained. “We’re also using the field as well, but we wanted to kind of do something that we’ve never done before.”

The Weeknd spent $7 million of his own money on the halftime show, and it was initially believed to be entirely in the stands, taking advantage of the limited crowd due to safety protocols.

The Weeknd has been on a course this year to his After Hours theme. He performed in the same red suite, black tie, and head bandages mimic the ugly side of Hollywood cultureHe did confirm that the Super Bowl show will be PG, being respectful to the families that watch the big game.

“I will still incorporate some of the storyline.” he said. “It’s a very cohesive story I’ve been telling throughout this era and throughout this year. The story will continue, but definitely will keep it PG for the families. I’ll try my best.”

“I don’t like to spoon-feed the audience,” he continued. “Hopefully they can pick up some of their own theories and conclusions of what the show is saying and the story I’m telling from the performance.”

When asked about his favorite Super Bowl performance of the past, and noted that he had seen many of the shows, but Diana Ross’ show in 1996 was his favorite.

“I watched hers over and over again,” he said. “It’s mainly hers, yeah, but I loved Prince’s, obviously. Michael Jackson, Beyoncé. They’re all amazing, but Diana Ross was definitely my favorite performance.”

He also noted that he was very interested in the fact that Ross left the field in a helicopter.
But for many of the questions asked, the answer was “You’ve got to wait until Sunday”,
